take the helmet of faith
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:17 (NIV The apostle Paul tells us that we are in a spiritual battle and need all that God has provided for us. Now Paul introduces us to the helmet of salvation as he uses the analogy of 1st Century armor to make his point. In the time of battle we don’t need to be fixated upon our thoughts, but the Scripture. As we renew our thoughts according to God’s word we are ready to fight the battle that is in front of us. Salvation is from the Lord, and God is well able to protect our heart as we keep our thoughts focused upon Him.
