“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness

“ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ” ( Matthew 6:33 NLT) Many people say they don’t have time for a quiet time. That’s an excuse . Every person on the planet has the same 168 hours in his or her week. The question is: How do you spend the time you have? You don’t have time for everything. No one does. You have to make time for what really counts. It’s not a matter of time; it’s a matter of priorities and values. The key to making time for a daily devotion is to make Jesus and his Kingdom the priority in your life. Jesus said, “ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well ” ( Matthew 6:33 , NLT). Put God first in your life, and you’ll have more time. Whatever you need more of in your life, give God first place in that area. Your quiet time and getting to know God should be the number one priority of your life . Why? Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23 (NI Research shows that 80% of heart disease is preventable with better lifestyle choices: what we eat and how we treat our bodies is either life-giving or life-stealing. How much more does our spiritual diet affect our spiritual hearts? What we fill our minds with overflows out of our hearts. Therefore we are commanded to guard our hearts, carefully monitoring what we allow in so that what flows out is pleasing to God.

With such a man do not even eat. ” 1 Corinthians 5:11 (NIV) Sandi was so lonely . She’d been a widow who hadn’t dated in several years. Then, one day, a wonderful man came into her life. He pursued her – flowers, dinners and sweet words. He SAID he was a Christian. But within a few weeks, he wanted the relationship to be intimate. He said this was a gift from God to make people happy. But Sandi stood firm. She cared for the man and wanted a companion, but his view of God did not agree with the Bible. The Bible says, we’re to run from immorality and that’s just what Sandi did. It was time to end the relationship. Her heart was broken but she knew the Lord loved her obedience. She felt better too. As it turned out, he was married and separated from his wife! Friend, God really does know best
